Before ordering I was dreading using a dark Aida again as my experience with black Aida was awkward (the project turned out great but I couldn’t get the fabric to lose its stiffness after multiple washes and it was so hard to find the holes). I gave the navy fabric a wash and was prepared to wash/dry multiple times and try some fabric softener but I didn’t need to! The fabric is as soft as the usual white and doesn’t snag the color of the thread as the black did on occasion. It’s still hard to see when returning the needle to the front but because I’m going off of a counted pattern on my laptop i use that as a kind of lap light box and it’s all coming along smoothly. (I’m probably about 10 hours into this project, fyi.) It’s surprisngly wonderful stuff and I can’t wait to see this turned into a pillow.
