- [The following review was submitted by Potato Bug – recent inductee to the ‘Not A Mommy’ club and professional escape artist]I went to visit doctor friends. I got sleepy and when I woke up, I was in this THING. I was not happy. I couldn’t run, jump, and I definitely couldn’t lick my itchy itchy belly. I tried to play with new toys when I got home but my arms kept getting caught if I potato-loafed [photo 1]. It pulled my legs and I walked funny for a bit. And, again, I couldn’t lick my itchy itchy belly which was very important to me. It took a few days but I figured out how to escape from the THING and lick my belly. A lot. Mommy woke up, called me an evil weasel and put the THING back on me. It went on faster than I would have liked. I decided to make a game out of getting out of it in the middle of the night just to see how long it would take before mommy woke up and put it back on. I was very glad to have the THING taken off by mommy herself because I guess that means I can lick my belly now. I also won’t stay off the counters because my hindleg game is apparently ‘fire’ now.Translation for humans – The onesie worked great for the most part. Not too heavy and easy to get on her [your experience may differ since she loves wearing a harness]. Definitely pay extra attention to the measurement chart when deciding which size to get your kitty because too small and it’ll pinch, too big and they will walk right out of it. We got the small but she’s right on the high end of that. It appeared to give her a slight wedgie if she really tried to stretch out which wasn’t that bad of a deal considering she was recovering from spay surgery and stretching was a bad thing. As long as she had it on, she wasn’t able to mess with her stitches which was the whole point of the onesie so bonus. She also had no problem using the litterbox while wearing it. She did, however, figure out how to shed it like a snakeskin by curling up until her arms slid out of the sleeves and into the onesie itself and then pushing the arms through the neck hole and just sliding out of it. I don’t think there’s a way to fix that without making the sleeves too tight and uncomfortable or potentially cutting off circulation somewhere. It’s just something that people should be on the look out for so that the onesie can do its job of keeping stitches from being explored by mouthy kittens before their time. Photo 2 shows the main activity that wearing this product seemed to inspire – acting like she just finished a hard day’s work of remembering the choreography for an upcoming part in an all cat version of ‘Fame’. Hand wash, cold water recommended.
